Privacy
Dusklapse runs entirely on your device and on your camera. It has no server, no account and no analytics. Nothing you photograph, and nothing about where or when you photograph it, is sent anywhere.

What the app does with your data
Your photographs stay yours. Your camera writes its files to its own memory card. To show you a preview and to measure how bright the frame is, Dusklapse asks the camera for a small JPEG copy and holds it on your device for as long as it is on screen. That copy is never uploaded, never stored in a photo library, and never shared. The originals never leave the camera.
Your location is used and immediately discarded. The optional "Auto Luminance" feature works out how far the sun sits below the horizon, which needs a rough position and the time. That calculation happens on your device, the result is a single number, and the position itself is neither stored nor transmitted. The feature is optional: without it the app never asks for your location, and declining the permission leaves everything else working.
The local network permission is for your camera. iOS asks for it because Dusklapse connects directly to the camera's Wi-Fi. It is used for nothing else, and the app makes no connections to the internet at all.
What is stored on your device
- The camera you last connected to: manufacturer, address and port, so the app can offer it again.
- Your settings: exposure limits, the daylight curve, how often frames are transferred.
- A log of what the app and the camera did, which the log view in the app shows you. It stays on the device and is only shared if you choose to send it to us with a bug report.
All of it lives in the app's own storage and is removed when you delete the app.
What we do not do
There is no tracking, no advertising, no profiling and no third-party analytics. Dusklapse contains no advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not sell or share data, because we do not have any.
What Apple sees
Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymised crash reports and usage statistics for apps downloaded from the App Store, and with crash data and usage statistics for builds distributed through TestFlight. Whether that data is shared is controlled by your own iOS settings, under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. We cannot identify individual people from it. This processing is Apple's; see Apple's Privacy Policy.
This website
The documentation site you are reading is hosted by Vercel, which records standard server logs such as IP addresses and requested pages in order to deliver it. The site sets no tracking cookies.
Your rights
Because the app processes no personal data on our side, there is normally nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete. If you have written to us — a bug report, an email, a GitHub issue — you can ask what we hold, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to a supervisory authority. Under the GDPR the German authorities are listed by the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection.
